Cisco introduces the Catalyst 2980G and 2980G-A; the industry's highest density, small form factor fixed configuration Ethernet switches in an extremely compact package. These cost-effective switches were designed to deliver maximum ease of management and configuration for small to medium-sized enterprise wiring. The Catalyst 2980G and 2980G-A provides an efficient, simple, and cost effective method for improving performance and eliminating network congestion with high speed, layer 2 intelligent enterprise switching. The Catalyst 2980G-A now offers an optional external Redundant Power Supply (RPS) to further increase network high availability.

Catalyst 2948G-L3 Switch

The recently announced Catalyst 2948G-L3 offers cost-effective Layer 3 switching alternatives for small/medium enterprise backbones. The Catalyst 2948G-L3 offers 48 ports of 10/100 Ethernet with two Gigabit Ethernet uplinks capable of wire-speed, non-blocking, Layer 3 performance ideal for mid-range backbone frame processing.
